Why Magpies Swoop

Magpies are large birds that live in Australia.
Magpies swoop because they think people will take some eggs from their nests. Usually in Spring they swoop people and sometimes they pick people’s hair to warm up their nests. Sometimes when you sit by a tree and there’s a magpie in the tree and there’s a nest next to the magpie it could swoop you.  When you go near a magpie it can swoop you too. Magpies are really dangerous in Spring.
Make sure you wear a hat when magpies are about in Spring.

Magpies are black and white. They are big birds.
In Spring time magpies swoop to guard their nests. One reason they swoop is to get things to put in their nest. Magpies are black and white.
I hope you don’t get swooped by one.

Why Magpies Swoop

Magpies are a type of bird that is found in Australia.
As Spring comes the magpies make their nests and lay eggs there.  Then as people walk along the street they pick people’s hair because they think they are going to take their eggs. You have to be aware they are angry and annoying. They are black and white.
Be careful of magpies.
